Leeds United owner has had quite the summer.

When the dust settles after deadline day, even if Leeds United are quiet, owner Andrea Radrizzani will be able to reflect on a huge first summer in charge.

After being dealt a bombshell by Garry Monk’s shock resignation just weeks after Radrizzani took full charge of the club, the Italian has taken a measured and well planned approach which has created an early buzz around the club.

The question now remains whether he has one last moment of magic left to sprinkle on the Whites?

So far this summer

Radrizzani made a left field appointment in moving for Thomas Christiansen as head coach, and the Spaniard looks an inspired choice.

Leeds are unbeaten heading into the international break and sit third in the Championship.

Radrizzani’s biggest coup was pulling off a deal to buy back Elland Road, after the club spent the last 13 years leasing the stadium.

There has been impressive recruitment too, with overseas gems Samu Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski looking like particularly shrewd buys, while the academy has been replenished with a wave of new talent.

What is required?

Chris Wood’s sale has left a gap up front, but Leeds appear close to signing Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Pawel Cibicki.

This will add to new boy Jay-Roy Grot, although Caleb Ekuban is out with an injury and will spend a few weeks on the sidelines.

Leeds have money in the bank from Wood’s sale, and if Leeds can identify the right target, a proven Championship goalscorer could sway the promotion race. Dwight Gayle anyone?

There are also questions defensively despite Conor Shaughnessy’s emergence and a recent good run of form.

Leeds have missed out on Grant Hanley, Harlee Dean and Connor Goldson in the past 24 hours, but Aden Flint still remains available.

One more big signing up front or in central defence might seem greedy after the summer Leeds have had, but they have the money, and it really would top off an outstanding few months for new owner Radrizzani and his team.
