Most of Tottenham’s title rivals all have at least two top-class strikers while the goalscoring responsibility at Spurs falls too heavily on the shoulders of Harry Kane.
Aubameyang could play alongside Kane in the 3-5-2 system that Spurs have recent used, including last week’s 2-1 win over Dortmund in which both players scored.
The coveted striker would have been out of Tottenham’s price range over the last 18 months, but Dortmund’s valuation means he is now within their reach.
