Manchester United set to trigger an extension in Luke Shaw’s contract which could signal the end of the interest in Tottenham’s Danny Rose.
It seems Manchester United may have given up hope of signing Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur this summer as they prepare to trigger and extension in Luke Shaw’s contract, reports the Times.
The Red Devils had shown interest in signing Rose even before he gave an interview with the Sun in which the Doncaster-born left-back revealed he would be open to a move back north.

Which certainly seems to have worked at Old Trafford, where Tottenham have already knocked back a £50m approach from Man United for Eric Dier earlier in the summer as well, with a 12-month extension in Shaw’s current deal set to be triggered.
The 22-year-old’s current contract expires in 10 months time and after being publicly criticised by manager Jose Mourinho on several occasions last season, it was thought the England international was not in the Portuguese’s plans.
Yet despite using Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian in the role so far this term, Shaw is believed to have won Mourinho over and as he returns to full fitness could be back in the starting XI before too long.
