Tottenham Hotspur should at least give the soon-to-be free agent some chances to prove his worth this season.
For all the promise shown by Tottenham Hotspur’s next generation, there is one player who divides opinion among Spurs fans more than any other.
While the likes of Harry Winks, Marcus Edwards and Cameron Carter-Vickers have all impressed with their first-team appearances to date, Josh Onomah’s outings have often received more criticism than praise among the Spurs faithful.
Onomah has appeared 10 times for Tottenham this season, predominantly from the bench, and he has shown little to suggest that he can blossom into a first-team regular at White Hart Lane.

In contrast, Nathan Oduwa has had to make do with under-23 performances since returning from his latest loan spell, and while the two youngsters play in different positions, there is an argument to be had that the 19-year-old winger is more deserving of a place in Tottenham’s match day squad right now than the teenage midfielder.
It could certainly be argued that Oduwa would do no worse than Onomah, and with the former’s contract expiring in the summer, he is running out of chances to impress Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino and earn a new deal in the process.

Oduwa’s attitude has been questioned, but he seems to have turned things round with some fine displays for the second string, and as long as Onomah continues to struggle, there will be calls for one promising yet unfulfilled talent to be overlooked in favour of another.
