Nottingham Forest have reportedly put a £15 million price tag on striker Britt Assombalonga, after interest from Burnley and Middlesbrough.

According to a report in L’Equipe, Middlesbrough are in talks to sign Martin Braithwaite from Toulouse – and that may suggest that they have been put off Nottingham Forest’s Britt Assombalonga.

Boro boss Garry Monk appeared to make Assombalonga his top target this summer, and he has been pushing hard for a deal.

However, the Daily Mirror suggest that Forest want £15 million if they are to sell their star striker.

It has been suggested by The Sun that Boro were willing to meet that asking price, but their bid to sign Braithwaite may hint that they are looking at other options.

The Mirror believe that Toulouse want £12 million for Braithwaite, and Boro are surely unlikely to be able to afford to buy him and Assombalonga in the same transfer window.

Burnley are still interested in Assombalonga, according to the Nottingham Post, but with Boro seemingly withdrawing from the race, Forest’s chances of keeping hold of the Congolese-born forward may just have improved.
