Aston Villa could cash in on Scott Hogan in January, just 12 months after they signed him from Brentford for £12m

Aston Villa fans up and down the country would have breathed a collective sigh of relief when the news broke on Wednesday that Keinan Davis had committed his future to the club until 2020.
The 19-year-old has been a revelation this season, bursting onto the first-team picture and emerging as Villa’s number one centre-forward.
The downside to his impressive displays, however, was that The Sun claimed that Everton, Manchester United and Arsenal were all competing to lure him away from Villa Park with the teenager’s contract due to expire in the summer of 2018.
Though a new deal brings an end to speculation with Davis, who was playing non-league football at Biggleswade Town just two years ago, set to continue his development under Steve Bruce in the Midlands.

While this is excellent news for Villa, however, fellow striker Scott Hogan may now be wondering what the future holds for him in claret and blue.
The Republic of Ireland international signed for Villa for £12 million in January, according to the BBC, but has struggled to replicate the prolific form he showed at former club Brentford. A series of injuries and fluctuating form means Hogan has scored just one league goal in 27 games for Villa.

And Hogan has lost his place in recent months to Davis with The Sun (29th October, page 65) even reporting that Villa may consider cashing in to raise funds for new additions in January.
With Davis nailing his colours to the mast, Hogan’s future at Aston Villa has never looked more in doubt.
