Does Isaac Hayden have a Newcastle United future if Thiago Maia is signed by Rafael Benitez?

Isaac Hayden could be forgiven for thinking that his Newcastle United career hangs in the balance.
After all, the former Arsenal midfielder, who helped the Magpies win promotion in 2017, only played 184 minutes of Premier League football during the second half of last term.
That is the equivalent of two full matches, but Hayden’s playing time from January was spread across 10 different Newcastle games.
It clearly illustrates that the 23-year-old has become a bit-part player under Rafael Benitez, and if Thiago Maia is signed then there is nothing stopping the Spaniard from dumping Hayden.
According to Le10 Sport on Sunday, Benitez tried and failed with a loan bid for the Lille star, who cost the French club £11 million last summer [The Chronicle].
It was the second time that Benitez has been knocked back when trying to sign the powerful midfielder this summer, but if he eventually succeeds then it will probably be the final nail in Hayden’s career at St James’s Park.
Both operate in the same position and with Mo Diame, the main reason why Hayden barely played from January, still in the North East then it would appear as if the young Englishman, who earns £22,000 per week according to Silly Season, would have very little to offer Benitez.
