Glasgow Rangers coach Jonatan Johansson recommended Alfredo Morelos in the summer and he has made a stunning start to life at Ibrox.

After the first few weeks of the season, there is no question who has been the star of the season for Rangers – 21-year-old striker Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian was probably a player that most Gers supporters had never heard of before news that he could be on his way to Ibrox surfaced in the summer.

However, he has made himself into a Rangers hero almost straight away, getting off to a lightning start in front of goal and boasting a very impressive strike-rate after just a handful of games for the Light Blues.
It is likely therefore, that Pedro Caixinha has offered his sincere thanks to Jonatan Johansson after the way that Morelos has begun his Rangers career.
Rangers assistant coach Jonatan Johansson
Caixinha confirmed to the club’s official website when Morelos signed that it was Gers coach Johansson who had recommended the young forward, seemingly after seeing him play in his native Finland with HJK.
Given how good a signing Morelos has turned out to be since arriving during the summer, it would perhaps be wise for Caixinha to consider turning to Johansson again in the hope that he could recommend another gem.
With Rangers not boasting the budget that Celtic seem to have, the Gers need to be canny in the market, and signing more relatively unknown players such as Morelos could potentially be a great way to bridge the gap to their Old Firm foes as they are likely to command a lower fee.
And if Johansson can uncover one or two more prospects with Morelos’ apparent potential, then Caixinha’s men will be in with a fantastic chance of closing the gap on the Scottish Premiership summit much quicker.
