Goalkeeper Miazek has agreed a new one-year deal at Leeds.

Leeds United goalkeeper Andy Lonergan will be sweating on his future at Elland Road following the appointment of new manager Marcelo Bielsa, after the Argentine stated he had watched every single one of Leeds’ 2017-18 fixtures.
Lonergan, 34, played in nine of Leeds’ 51 league and cup encounters last season, but his fatal mistakes against Brentford during a 3-1 loss to the Bees, before conceding four against Wolves ended his Championship participation in November.

Now, the former Bolton and Wolves goalkeeper is one of a number of fringe players who could be given the boot by Leeds’ new manager, who is keen to trim the bloated size of his Elland Road squad.
Leeds have already waved goodbye to Felix Wiedwald, who has returned to Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt, while Lewie Coyle has rejoined Fleetwood Town on loan until the January transfer window.
Just a day after Bielsa’s appointment, Leeds also offered a new one-year deal to Polish reserve goalkeeper Kamil Miazeka and the faith in the former Feyenoord stopper could indeed push Lonergan further towards the exit door.

Lonergan is 13 years older than Miazek and with Leeds keen to sign a new goalkeeper, after being linked with Angus Gunn and David Stockdale, Bielsa will surely place faith in youth.
Miazek’s new deal, then, could indeed see Lonergan drop down the pecking order even further and a move away from Elland Road this summer seems increasingly likely.
