Does Everton’s reported willingness to sell Oumar Niasse hint at striker signing in January?

Everton forward Oumar Niasse has reportedly been told he can leave Goodison Park.

According to Turkish Football, Everton are willing to allow Oumar Niasse to leave in January, and that may just indicate that they have a new number nine in their sights.

Everton are said to have told Niasse that he is free to find another club in January.

However, if they were to make that move, without planning to bring in another number nine it could be a risk.

Everton’s only truly recognised striker at the moment is Cenk Tosun.

Although the Toffees do also have Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin who can lead the line, the pair are arguably more natural wingers than centre forwards.

And letting go Niasse, who has his flaws but has proven he can score in the Premier League, could be a risky move for Everton, if they don’t have cover.

It is not as if Silva’s striking options are massively plentiful currently, and if Everton have told Niasse he can leave, it may just suggest that they have plans to bring in a new centre-forward in January.
