Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson
According to a report by the Daily Mirror, Everton are on the verge of securing a deal for Swansea City’s Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, for a sum believed to be in the region of £25 million.
The attacking midfielder, who scored nine goals and 13 assists to aid Swansea City’s survival fight this season, is said to be still negotiating a wage deal, as the transfer draws closer to its conclusion.
Playing often behind the striker in a No.10 role, Gylfi Sigurdsson has been the star of a Swansea City side which have struggled this season.
A move to Everton, especially for the suggested price, would indicate that Ronald Koeman see’s the Icelandic player as a first team man.
However, Everton currently already have a No.10 in Ross Barkley, and with the midfielder being heavily linked with a move away from the club, could a move for Sigurdsson mark the English youngster’s departure?
