We compare him to current Blues striker Arouna Kone.

It is fair to say that deadline day proved to be something of a disappointing one for Everton.
Their pursuit of Moussa Sissoko ended in embarrassment as he ignored their calls in favour of a move to Tottenham, while moves for Manolo Gabbiadini and Yacine Brahimi failed to be concluded.
One man who did arrive however was Enner Valencia as he joined on a season-long loan deal from West Ham United.
His signing was largely met with widespread disdain by the Blues faithful, who have seen him struggle to impress with the Hammers in recent years.
But does he represent an improvement on their current second choice striker Arouna Kone? We had a look at their stats over the last two seasons to find out.

And as it transpires, the Ecuador international came out on top in six of the eight areas we looked at.
Over the last two seasons he has managed more shots per game, more shots on target per game and more goals overall.
However he had a worse shooting accuracy than Kone, managing only 8% per cent compared to the Ivorian’s 12%.

Valencia did however register slightly more key passes per game, won more aerial duels per game and registered fewer unsuccessful touches per game, although only by the smallest margin.
The pair were however level when it came to assists, having both managed five over the last two seasons.
A win for Valencia nonetheless, who on this evidence represents something of an upgrade for Everton at this moment in time.
