Nottingham Forest are 20th in the Championship.
Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi confirmed his plans to depart the club this week, explaining he was in negotiations with new buyers.
The Kuwaiti has decided to walk away after failing to help the club kick on, with the club sitting in 20th place in the table.
Al-Hasawi confirmed he expects this stage of the selling process to take ‘six to eight weeks’, but insisted he remains in charge during this period.

Via a statement on the club website, he said: “This is obviously not the end of the process but I hope you will agree that this is a good start.
“Over this period, we will continue to work together to make decisions in the best long-term interests of the football club.”
Al-Hasawi could find himself required, or feeling motivated to make one last big decision while owner of the club.
He has not shied away from sacking managers during his time as Forest owner, and for many this has been one of his biggest downfalls, poor appointments followed by impatience.

New owners will want to have their say on who should manage the club, but if the team’s form dramatically slides further, Al-Hasawi could end up making another sacking.
Manager Philippe Montanier was appointed in the summer, and after a relatively bright start, the team have faded in recent weeks.
This has them in 20th place – just one point ahead of the relegation zone.
The team have lost their last three games, and have won only one of their past 10 matches.
This slide can’t continue to a point that in eight weeks time, Forest are adrift at the bottom of the table, a mess for the new owners to inherit, with looming relegation also potentially lowering the value of the club.
Forest host mid-table QPR this weekend and need a win badly. If they get torn apart, then don’t rule anything out that could be in the club’s ‘best interests’.
