Tottenham’s chances of securing a deal for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha have received a boost today, with the Mirror reporting that the Eagles are lining up a summer swoop for Norwich City ace Josh Murphy.

According to the Sun, Zaha has been identified as a key summer transfer target for Spurs, but Palace would only consider selling him for £50 million.

Roy Hodgson has repeatedly insisted that he has no interest in selling the Ivory Coast winger, however, and it is unclear as to whether the Lilywhites would be prepared to stretch to his reported £50 million asking price.

The Eagles’ reported interest in Josh Murphy could be a sign that they are planning for life without Zaha, though, and that could be great news for Tottenham.

The 25-year-old would be a superb signing for Spurs, and the direct manner in which he operates would undoubtedly help add some potency to Tottenham’s play in the final third.

The Lilywhites are on the crest of achieving something very special, and adding Zaha to their squad could very well be the final piece of the puzzle.

Whilst Palace are obviously reluctant to sell their star man, Spurs’ chances of bringing him to north London would increase greatly, if the Eagles bring in Josh Murphy this summer.
