Celtic have been impressed with Emerson Hyndman’s form for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers.

According to a report in the Scottish Sun, Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side are preparing a summer bid for Emerson Hyndman.

Hyndman’s form on a loan spell at Glasgow Rangers has caught the eye this season.

The American international has netted four goals in 11 appearances for the Ibrox side, making him a fans’ favourite at Rangers already.

And Celtic are keen to see whether he would be eager to return to Glasgow with them next season.

Hyndman is currently at Bournemouth, but he has not played much for the Premier League side.

Celtic have already made an enquiry about signing the 20-year-old, and the move could be even more tempting for Hyndman if Moussa Dembele remains at Parkhead.

Hyndman and Dembele are very close friends (The Scottish Sun), as they played with each other at Fulham earlier in their careers.

Indeed, when Hyndman arrived at Rangers he spoke highly of the Celtic striker.

He said: “It’s not a case of me being impressed with Moussa’s impact at Celtic. He’s a talented player. He works hard and deserves his success.

“Moussa always had attributes and he developed his game as well. He was very raw when he was 16.

“He had pace and power but over time at Fulham he developed his game. I think playing in the Championship helped him.”

Dembele’s form at Celtic this summer has attracted the attentions of a number of Premier League clubs, leaving Rodgers’ side facing a fight to keep hold of the French under-21 international this summer.

And, if they are targeting Hyndman, keeping Dembele may now have taken on added importance.
