Celtic continued their dominant form in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend, as they hammered Old Firm rivals Rangers 5-1 away from home at Ibrox.

Brendan Rodgers’s side headed into the match last Saturday afternoon as favourites and high on confidence.

The Bhoys were never going to lose, but many would have expected Rangers to at least put up a fight.

The way Celtic dismantled Pedro Caixinha’s side once again highlighted the gulf in class between the two teams.

This is Rangers’ first season back in the Scottish top flight, and it is understandable that it would take them a few years to start challenging Celtic again for the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic defender Mikael Lustig, though, does not have any sympathy for the way his side won against Rangers at Ibrox at the weekend.

“We faced a team with grown men so it is not like we can feel sorry for them,” Lustig told The Daily Record.

Celtic have won the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup this season.

The Glasgow giants, who featured in the group stage of the Champions League, have also progressed to the final of the Scottish Cup.

Celtic will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on St Johnstone at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership.
