Will Aston Villa star receive a six game ban?

Aston Villa loanee Tyrone Mings is in the spotlight for the wrong reasons for injuring Reading opponent Nelson Oliveira.
Oliveira had to undergo surgery after sustaining a boot to the face, courtesy of Mings, Sky Sports reported.
Many Reading fans are calling for Mings to be banned while former referee Mark Halsey said on Twitter that the Villa loanee should face a violent conduct charge.
If Mings is charged, then a precedent for a six game ban may have been set previously.
Two years ago Leeds United defender Liam Cooper was charged with violent conduct for a similar incident.
Cooper was judged to have stamped on the head of Reece Oxford, who like Oliveira, was also on loan at Reading at the time.

Oxford fortunately avoided serious injury, unlike Olivieira who could face a spell on the sidelines as his wounds recover.
Sky Sports reported that the FA said at the time of Leeds’ Cooper: “The FA claimed that the standard punishment which would otherwise apply for the misconduct committed would be ‘clearly insufficient’.”
Like Mings, Cooper pledged that the incident was not intentional.
If the FA do decide to charge Mings, he is likely to be looking at a similar ban to Cooper – at minimum.
