In the summer Tottenham Hotspur were desperate to bring in a new striker to help take some of the pressure of star-man Harry Kane. Vincent Janssen had struggled to fill the role and was eventually moved on to Fenerbahce, so plenty of names were linked with the club.
One name who was often mentioned was Czech Republic international Patrik Schick. Spurs were heavily linked with the Sampdoria man, but faced plenty of competition from Italian sides.

It looked like he was on his way to Juventus, but eventually Spurs missed out to AS Roma for the striker – who signed the player on an initial loan deal which, according to Reuters, will eventually cost the Italian side a club record £39 million.
Tottenham went on to sign Fernando Llorente from Swansea City, who has not quite managed to have an impact in North London.

But Schick has hardly done any better in the Italian capital. After making his debut v Hellas Verona as a substitute in September, he has not played again since.
He suffered a thigh and hip injury which kept him out for a month. He then had three games as an unused sub, before a thigh injury again left him sidelined. Since his massive move to Roma he has played just 14 minutes of football for the Giallorossi and Tottenham will not currently feel like they have missed out.
