Liverpool fans have fired back at Everton’s Twitter message where they were boasting about the signing of James Rodriguez.
The Toffees posted four pictures of Rodriguez’s face plastered over various buildings across Merseyside, with the caption ‘Our city of Liverpool never looked so good’.
That was understandably met with a volume of messages from those at Anfield, who started to point towards their team winning the Premier League title and the European Cup in recent seasons.
For a number of seasons now, Everton have been trying to get back into Europe and it has simply resulted in them either standing still or going backwards.
But with the arrival of the trophy-laden boss, Carlo Ancelotti, he has brought some serious pulling power with him and managed to secure the signings of Rodriguez from Real Madrid and Allan from Napoli.
It’s understandable that the Toffees would boast about their signings, but the Liverpool fans made it clear that they need to do their talking on the field of play.
In recent seasons, Jurgen Klopp’s men have got the better of their neighbours, but the up and coming Merseyside derbies next season may now have some more spice to it.

This is a big chance for those at Goodison to end their barren run against the Reds because they now have a midfield that can talk the talk and potentially walk the walk.
All will be revealed ahead of the new campaign, which starts at the weekend, as Klopp’s men will be the hunted after their 99 point haul last time out.
