Speaking to the London Evening Standard, West Ham’s Sporting Director, Declan Rice has been discussing Declan Rice’s future amid all sorts of speculation.
According to The Times, Rice is Arsenal’s top target heading into the summer transfer window, and according to Noble, the player does want to go and play in the Champions League.
Indeed, the West Ham chief was very open about the fact that Rice is keen to play at the top level, stating that nobody within the club begrudges him for wanting to go and win the biggest trophies within the game.
Noble makes Rice admission
The Sporting Director spoke about his player.
“We’re West Ham and these players want to go out and play Champions League football — and do you blame them?”
“Dec is no different. Dec will always be hailed at West Ham as a fantastic player and such a top, top person. But I don’t think anyone begrudges him wanting to go and win things. We just hope he’ll keep performing like he has been over the last month or so.
“Wherever Declan ends up, or however much someone pays for him, whether it’s here or anywhere else, he’s worth every penny.
“He’s said openly he loves playing at West Ham, but he has got ambitions as a player to go and play in the Champions League and win trophies. I don’t think any West Han fan can actually have an agenda over that.
“Do you blame him for having really big ambitions? Of course you don’t. If he didn’t, he probably wouldn’t be as good as he is.”
Arsenal in the mix
Noble says that Rice wants to go and play in the Champions League and play for the biggest trophies, and that means that Arsenal are certainly contenders for his signature.
Indeed, the north London club are currently at the top of the Premier League, and they look to be shoo-ins for a Champions League spot next term.
Rice may well be keen to join a team like Arsenal, and after Noble’s comments, one has to imagine that the Gunners have a great chance to sign Rice this summer.
