Championship rivals Derby County and Nottingham Forest are reportedly battling to sign Scunthorpe United’s League One midfielder Funso Ojo.

Scunthorpe United fans have made their feelings clear, while Funso Ojo is being linked with a move to Nottingham Forest and Derby County.
According to the Grimsby Telegraph, the two East Midland rivals are set to go head-to-head to sign the talented Belgian midfielder during the January transfer window.
Ojo has been a roaring success since he arrived at Glanford Park from Eredivisie outfit Willem II in the summer of 2017, establishing himself as one of the lower league’s best defensive midfielders thanks to his impressive passing range and ability to shield the back line.
But, given the choice, it seems that Scunthorpe fans would rather Ojo joined Forest rather than Derby if he is to leave this month, although only if Martin O’Neill’s side are willing to let Ryan Yates return on loan.

Yates spent the second half of last season with The Iron and rapidly established himself as a key player so he would be a ready-made replacement for the one-time PSV Eindhoven youngster.
But, don’t forget Scunthorpe supporters, Derby have another former Glanford Park favourite in red-hot winger Duane Holmes.
