Yannick Bolasie failed to impress at Everton despite the Premier League side paying £28million and is now shining at Anderlecht.

Yannick Bolasie admits he is loving life at Anderlecht and has no regrets about leaving Everton in January, as reported by the Mirror (29 March, page 61).
The Toffees made Bolasie their record signing in 2016, paying Crystal Palace £28 million to make the Congolese international their first marquee addition of the Farhad Moshiri era.
But Bolasie’s time at Goodison Park never got off the ground, thanks largely to a serious injury that kept him on the sidelines for over a year. And after struggling on loan at Aston Villa in the first half of 2018/19, the 29-year-old took the plunge and made the surprise temporary switch to Anderlecht two months ago.
So far, Bolasie has scored four goals in seven Jupiler League appearances for Anderlecht and he clearly believes that moving abroad was a good call.

“I have been playing football with a smile and I think that is showing on the field. I definitely made the right decision,” Bolasie said.
“It was a bold move and a different challenge but it has worked out well for me so far. I knew I could play attacking football with some very decent technical players at a big club in Belgium.”
It seems unlikely that Bolasie will return to Goodison Park and force his way into Marco Silva’s first-team plans given the array of attacking options available to the Everton head coach.
But it remains to be seen whether Anderlecht can afford to sign him permanently.
