Jefferson Montero was outstanding as Swansea City sealed a dramatic 2-1 win at Millwall in Saturday’s Championship clash.

Jefferson Montero’s Swansea City career appeared to be over a few months ago.
The Ecuadorian winger did not feature at all for the Swans during their relegation from the Premier League, instead spending time out on loan at Getafe and Emelec. But, once Graham Potter took over at the Liberty Stadium, he did not wait around to ensure that Montero was returning to South Wales.
And what an inspired decision that has proved to be.
Montero’s rapid pace was always going to cause problems in the Championship, but it is his end product which has caught the eye. He came off the bench with 25 minutes to go against Millwall on Saturday but raced clear to provide two stunning assists and seal a dramatic 2-1 comeback win.
And Swansea great Wyndham Evans believes Montero in this form is good enough to play for another team in white.

“He should be playing for Real Madrid if he can play like that, I’ve got to be honest with you,” the 67-year-old, who made over 350 league appearances for the Swans in two spells between 1971 and 1985, said in quotes reported by Wales Online.
If Montero can produce this sort of devastating display on a more regular basis, there is no reason why Swansea cannot fight for promotion under Potter.
