Everton have reportedly made Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy their number one transfer target, but Premier League rivals Liverpool should look closely.

Although doubts remain about the future of director of football and former Leicester City talent-spotter Steve Walsh at Goodison Park, it is understood that the Toffees would still love to bring Vardy this summer.
And the Mirror adds that the 31-year-old would jump at the chance of signing for Everton.

But fans of Everton’s Merseyside rivals Liverpool are also big admirers of the striker, who is enjoying another quality Premier League campaign with 17 goals in 33 starts.
Liverpool look well placed to challenge for the Premier League title next season, but one position they could do with strengthening is at centre-forward. Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah have scored goals for fun but the Reds are perhaps short of a natural, experienced front man if they are keen to fight on a number of fronts in 2019 and beyond.
Liverpool fans have seen the best of Vardy. His lethal double, including a 30-yard rocket, fired Leicester to a 2-0 win against Jurgen Klopp’s side en route to their remarkable Premier League title triumph in 2016.

Two years might have passed but it seems Vardy would be welcomed with open arms on both the red and blue halves of Merseyside.
