Chelsea’s on loan Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic could reportedly make the short switch across London to join Premier League rivals Spurs.

Not for the first time and probably not the last, Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with Mateo Kovacic.
The Croatian World Cup finalist might be on loan at Chelsea right now from Real Madrid but, according to AS English, Spurs are planning to hijack their London rivals’ attempts to sign the 24-year-old on a permanent basis.
Now, Kovacic has seemingly been on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar for some time now. AS claimed in the summer of 2017 that Tottenham had offered £22 million for the former Inter Milan youngster.
And with a season of Premier League football under his belt, would Spurs fans be willing to welcome Kovacic to North London with open arms? Well, maybe not.

Tottenham supporters got the chance to watch Kovacic at first hand as their side welcomed Chelsea to Wembley a week ago and the fact that he was dominated by Moussa Sissoko in the centre of the park meant he didn’t exactly leave a positive lasting impression.
And it seems that there is a number of other central midfielders who Spurs fans would rather see line up in the famous white kit, from PSG’s Adrien Rabiot to Wolves’ Ruben Neves via Everton’s Barcelona loanee Andre Gomes.
