Scottish Premiership giants Rangers have a decision to make with Besiktas reportedly hoping to sign Ibrox ace Alfredo Morelos on loan.

When Rangers were rejecting a £9 million bid from Beijing Renhe for Alfredo Morelos back in February, as reported by the Scottish Sun, no one expected the highly-rated striker to be linked with a loan move to Turkey just three months later.
But Morelos’ season went downhill fast, scoring just once in his last ten games and seeing his reputation take a battering thanks to some dreadful misses in Old Firm clashes against Celtic. The Daily Record reports that the Colombian’s market value has dropped considerably.

It would seem a little odd for Rangers to let Morelos leave for nothing, so soon after they could have made him the biggest export in their history.
But maybe a season on loan in Turkey would benefit the Ibrox side, giving Morelos the chance to prove that he can actually deliver outside of Scotland – where so often players regularly seem to score goals for fun, but can’t do that elsewhere.

A good season in Turkey, however, would suggest that Morelos can hit the net outside of Scotland and perhaps alert clubs across Europe to his potential – which could see Rangers receive a couple of big money offers again.
If Rangers wanted to sell Morelos now, they’d likely have to accept far less than £9 million bid they are said to have rejected. So what’s the harm in letting him find form again elsewhere?
