Premier League duo Brighton and Bournemouth want Scott Sinclair, who is allegedly keen to leave Scottish Premiership giants Celtic this summer.

After two years at Parkhead, is it time for Celtic to cash in on Scott Sinclair?

That could be the decision facing Brendan Rodgers this summer with the former Swansea City, Manchester City and Aston Villa winger eyeing a return to the Premier League at the end of this season.

The Scottish Sun claim that Sinclair is unsettled in Scotland and, after winning every domestic trophy possible, believes his chapter with Celtic has come to an end. It is understood that Brighton and Bournemouth are keen on a player who cost £3.5 million from Villa in the summer of 2016.

‘Totally disinterested’

Now, on paper, Sinclair would be a huge loss to the reigning Scottish Champions.

The former England U21 star won the league’s Golden Boot last season, was named the nation’s Player of the Year, and has scored or assisted 68 goals in 95 games in Celtic colours.

But, on the other hand, his form has dipped alarmingly since the turn of the year. Sinclair, who turned 29 on Monday, has not scored a goal in two months and looks a poor imitation of the player who took Scotland by storm last season.

Worryingly, many Celtic fans demanded that he be dropped for the recent 3-2 Old Firm win at Rangers, claiming that Sinclair looks ‘totally disinterested’ and a ‘shadow of his former self’.

And, tellingly, Rodgers seemed to agree. The PSG loanee Odsonne Edouard started, scored a sumptuous winner and now appears well placed to earn a permanent contract at Celtic. He replaced Sinclair at Ibrox and could succeed him long-term, too.

Now might be the time to let him go.
