Premier League-bound Wolverhampton Wanderers are battling Serie A duo Juventus and AC Milan to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Jack Wilshere of Arsenal celebrates after scoring his sides first goal during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on January 3, 2018 in London, England.

Earlier this week, Wolverhampton Wanderers emerged in the betting markets as shock contenders to sign Arsenal’s out of contract midfielder Jack Wilshere in the summer.

Ladbrokes even offered odds of 6/1 for the England international, who has been heavily linked with Everton and West Ham, to sign for the Molineux club in the transfer window.

And it seems the odds makers were on to something, because The Mirror reports that newly promoted Wolves are indeed interested in signing Wilshere this summer if, as expected, he ends his lifelong association at Arsenal.

Despite the fact that Wilshere is available on a free this summer, you could argue that he would be an even bigger statement signing than £15.8 million Portuguese international Ruben Neves – and the biggest transfer coup since Chinese investors Fosun International took over the club in 2016.

Not only is Wilshere a proven Premier League talent who has won 34 caps for England, The Mirror points out that he also has interest from Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan.

Massimiliano Allegri head coach of Juventus looks on before the serie A match between Spal and Juventus at Stadio Paolo Mazza on March 17, 2018 in Ferrara, Italy.

Now, Juve are on the verge of a seventh straight Serie A title and have reached the Champions League final in two of the last three seasons. AC Milan, meanwhile, appear to be edging back to the big time under Gennaro Gattuso after spending around £200 million on transfers last summer.

But there appears to be a real chance that Juve and Milan could miss out on a transfer target to Wolverhampton Wanderers – which shows just how much has changed at Molineux.
