Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has emerged as a shock reported target for Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur but will he leave Serie A at last?

Now this is one of the oddest transfer rumours we have seen so far this summer.
According to FC Inter News, Tottenham Hotspur have entered talks with the Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic about a potential big-money move to North London. And there are two reasons why this report will raise plenty of eyebrows.
One, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is hardly renowned for splashing out top dollar sums and, after Inter priced out Manchester United last summer by demanding £50 million, Tottenham would probably have to break their transfer record for Perisic.

And, two, the Croatian flyer is 29 these days, and Spurs are a side who tend to buy young, cheap players and develop them into world-beaters. In short, Perisic goes against the grain.
The former Wolfsburg and Dortmund attacker scored 11 and set up 11 more as Inter Milan qualified for the Champions League after a six-year absence on Sunday. But, for a potential club-record fee, is he even better than the options already at Mauricio Pochettino’s disposal?

Spurs fans seem divided on the issue. Yes, Heung Min Son has been in fantastic form for the best part of two seasons but Perisic would surely be a better option out wide than the likes of Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko.
Tottenham need to show some ambition this summer but the jury is very much out about whether Perisic is the right statement signing.
