A thick Black Country accent will fill the air in the picturesque Portuguese city of Braga sometime this autumn.

Alongside Besiktas and Slovan Bratislava, Wolverhampton Wanderers have been drawn against the fourth best side in the Portugal after navigating their way to the Europa League group stage following trips to Ireland, Armenia and Italy during a gruelling qualification campaign.

And there is one player on the Braga team-sheet who simply leaps off the page.

After all, Wolves were linked with young Francisco Trincao earlier in the summer with the Sun claiming that the nouveau-riche Midlanders could have paid £13.5 million for a 19-year-old striker with just 39 senior appearances under his belt.

A tricky forward with an eye for the spectacular, Trincao is pretty much the typical Wolves signing; young, promising and hungry to improve. Think Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Pedro Neto and Jesus Vallejo.

And after deciding that another year at Braga would be better for his development, Trincao now has the perfect chance to catch Wolves’ eye once again over two legs against a team who have made a habit of signing the most promising youngsters in Portuguese football in the last few years.
