Having confirmed their promotion to the Premier League, Wolverhampton Wanderers are already looking to who they can sign for their return to the big time.

Georginio Wijnaldum of Liverpool and Joe Allen of Stoke City clash during the Premier League match between Liverpool and Stoke City at Anfield on April 28, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

Wolves want to add some homegrown talent to their squad packed full of foreign stars and Allen could be tempted to make the move if Stoke are relegated this season.

The Potteries are currently second bottom in the table and three points from safety with two matches left to play and with Allen earning big wages, the club could be open to selling him if they go down.

Addition or replacement?

The West Midlands side may simply want the 28-year-old to bolster their ranks, but it could also be argued that the Wales international would be coming in as a replacement for Ruben Neves.

There was great surprise when Neves arrived at Molineux from Porto last summer, and after impressing in England’s second tier in 2017/18, AC Milan, Liverpool and Manchester United are now all interested in signing the 21-year-old – as reported by Birmingham Live.
