Wolverhampton Wanderers were reportedly in talks to bring Sparta Prague striker Tetteh to the Premier League.
Wolverhampton Wanderers suddenly have a second chance to sign the highly-rated Sparta Prague striker Benjamin Tetteh before the January transfer window slams shut this week.
The Mail reported earlier in the January transfer window that Wolves had opened talks with the Czech side over a potential £11 million deal for the Ghanaian powerhouse, who has been likened to the Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
It seemed that Wolves’ hopes were over, however, with Galatasaray talking to Tetteh’s agent and agreeing a deal to bring the 21-year-old to Istanbul, according to King GH.
But, in a surprise twist, Football Ghana is now reporting on Monday that the Super Lig champions have suddenly cancelled their move for Tetteh after deciding against meeting Sparta Prague’s £11 million price-tag.
Galatasaray have turned their attention to Alexandre Pato, the one-time Brazilian wonder kid who has scored 30 goals in 47 league games for Tianjin Quanjian.
As a result, a Wolves side who still have not signed a new striker this month could have another chance to bring Tetteh to the Black Country.
The youngster has nine goals in 22 games this season.
