Fulham reportedly had a bid rejected from Wolverhampton Wanderers for Ivan Cavaleiro in June.

It could be a case of one in, one out for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to the Sun, they are set to win the race to sign Middlesbrough’s jet-heeled winger Adama Traore, having triggered the £18 million buyout clause in his contract.

The former Barcelona youngster has been linked with a whole host of clubs on the back of a fine season in the Championship, where he produced 10 assists alongside his five goals.

But newly promoted Premier League side Wolves appear to have won the race. And, according to the Sun, Traore’s impending move to Molineux will open the door for Nuno Espirito Santo to sell one or two.

And this could be the news that Fulham have been waiting for.

According to Sky Sports in June, Fulham had a £12 million bid for Ivan Cavaleiro rejected, but the Portuguese U23 star is set to fall down the pecking order once Traore arrives. Wolves already have Diogo Jota and Helder Costa in wide areas, too.

And, although Cavaleiro was superb en route to the Championship title last season, scoring nine and setting up 12 more, Nuno has shown that he is willing to part company with players he believes he can upgrade.

Benik Afobe was sold to Stoke while Barry Douglas appears to be heading to Leeds. Could Cavaleiro be on his way, too, with Fulham waiting in the wings?
