Bakary Sako is a free-agent after leaving Crystal Palace – could Wolverhampton Wanderers offer him a new Premier League chance?

Why Bakary Sako is still a free agent is anyone’s guess.
We are one game down in the new Premier League season and the transfer window is shut. But Sako, who left Crystal Palace in July after rejecting a new contract according to manager Roy Hodgson in The Standard, remains without a club.
Though the 30-year-old’s exile should not continue too much longer.
His former club Wolverhampton Wanderers have been handed a blow with the news that influential winger Ivan Cavaleiro will be out for around six weeks with a back injury. Sako is still highly thought of at Molineux and should be considered as a replacement, or at least a backup option for the months ahead.

The Mali international wore the famous gold kit from 2012 to 2015, emerging as a fans favourite thanks to his ability to produce something spectacular from very little. And after a couple of quiet years at Palace, Sako exploded into life at the start of 2018 and proved once and for all that he can make the difference at the top level.
Which makes Wolves bringing him back to Molineux on a free something of a no-brainer. Nuno Espirito Santo already has Diogo Jota, Helder Costa and Adama Traore to call upon but Sako would bring experience and only enhance the feel-good factor in the Black Country.
