Paul Gladon was reportedly offered a route out of Premier League newbies Wolverhampton Wanderers by Dutch duo FC Twente and Roda JC.

Paul Gladon has made just three appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers since joining in 2016 and spent the whole of last season on loan at former club Heracles. So the seldom-seen striker must have known that he was unlikely to be part of Wolves’ plans for their first season back in the Premier League.
Either way, Gladon wasted his chance to seal a move away from Molineux and get his career back on track.
1Limburg reported in August that Wolves were hoping to sell or loan out their £1 million misfit before the transfer window shut. But Gladon rejected moves to Dutch second tier sides FC Twente and Roda JC.
“(Roda) have indeed called and he has thanked them for the offer,” the striker’s agent told 1Limburg. “Paul has already played in the first division. He is an Eredivisie striker and he has a high salary.”
Now that decision to reject all offers appears to have backfired spectacularly.

Because he is one a few senior players who have been omitted from Wolves’ official 25-man Premier League squad, alongside Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Joe Mason, meaning he is unlikely to play any first-team football between now and the New Year.
Looking back, perhaps Gladon should have seized the chance to join Twente or Roda and even accepted a pay cut. Because four months in the reserves is unlikely to rebuild his reputation.
