Jurgen Locadia snubbed Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017 – and is now struggling in the Premier League with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have made an impressive start to life back in the Premier League and are sitting 11th in the table, comfortably clear of the relegation zone.
But if Wolves want to push on and challenge to be the ‘best of the rest’, they need a new centre-forward in January. Raul Jimenez has impressed with his hold-up play but a tally of three goals in 12 games is far from prolific – and it is no secret that Nuno Espirito Santo wants another forward with only Leo Bonatini in reserve.
So could Jurgen Locadia be an option again?
According to VI, Wolves were close to landing the Dutch forward from PSV Eindhoven a year ago, only for Locadia to turn them down as he didn’t want to move to the second tier of English football. With Wolves a top flight side these days, however, that should no longer be a concern.
And, just 10 months after joining Brighton for a club-record £14 million (BBC), Locadia seems intent on escaping the Amex as soon as possible.

“At Brighton, I do not feel that my situation will change quickly. In my opinion, I never had the chance to show what I am worth. I think winter is a good time to think if this is still good for me,” the 25-year-old told De Telegraaf, admitting that he and his agent would look for a move away from Brighton.
Now, Locadia has struggled at Brighton and hasn’t scored in 10 games this season but that is no reason to suggest that he would not be a success at Wolves.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is obviously an admirer and Locadia’s pace and power means he could play in any of the forward areas for the Black Country side. He scored nine goals in 15 games in the first half of 2017/18 for PSV before moving to Brighton.
