Aston Villa signed defender Kortney Hause on loan from Premier League high-flyers Wolverhampton Wanderers in January.
Kortney Hause has admitted that he initially struggled at Aston Villa after joining the Midlands side on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in January, while speaking to the official website.
The former England U21 international made the short trip from Molineux to Villa Park a month ago, with his ability to play at centre-half and left-back making him a fine signing on paper, given that Dean Smith’s side were short in both positions.
Hause endured an inauspicious start to life in claret and blue, however, losing 3-0 away at Wigan Athletic on his debut.
The 23-year-old has been one of the club’s more impressive performers since then, establishing himself as Smith’s first-choice left-back. And, speaking to the club’s official website, Hause has suggested that he has recovered from a difficult start.
“It wasn’t great at the beginning. Making my debut against Wigan wasn’t the best,” Hause said.
“I am the first one to say I’m not good enough when I’m not good enough. I also give myself praise when I’m doing well. I understand at Wigan I wasn’t good enough
“But after that game, I feel I have done well at left-back, doing the job for the team.”
Hause is yet to taste victory in Villa colours, losing against Brentford and West Brom before Saturday’s 1-1 draw away at Stoke City.
But, if he continues to give the fans something to cheer, Villa could take up the option they have to sign the loanee on a permanent basis in the summer, as reported by the Express and Star.
