Ivan Cavaleiro has been tipped to depart Premier League newcomers Wovlerhampton Wanderers after Fulham reportedly made a bid this summer.
There has been plenty of speculation surrounding the future of Ivan Cavaleiro this summer.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been ruthless since earning promotion to the Premier League, cashing in on both Benik Afobe and Barry Douglas despite the duo making a huge contribution to the club’s Championship title winning campaign.
And, despite scoring nine goals and setting up 12 more in 2017/18, Cavaleiro has also been tipped to leave, especially with Wolves going all out to bring in the jet-heeled Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore before the transfer window shuts.
But the Express and Star has provided a telling update now on Cavaleiro’s future after he missed the 2-1 friendly defeat to Derby County at the weekend.
It is reported that the 24-year-old was only omitted because of injury and he remains a key part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans, with the Wolves manager keen to hang on to the Portuguese U23 star this summer.
The report adds that even the potential arrival of Traore will not see Cavaleiro – who joined from Monaco for £7 million – shoved towards the exit.
This is a blow, then, for Fulham. The Cottagers, who were promoted alongside Wolves in May, made a £12 million bid for the former Monaco starlet at the end of June, according to Sky Sports.
But they will now be forced to search elsewhere to enhance their attacking options.
