Reports suggest a number of Championship clubs have expressed displeasure about the amount of money being spent by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have certainly been aided in their pursuit of Premier League football.
Chinese investors Fosun International are willing to pay whatever it takes to drag Wolves into the top tier of the English game and their connections with super-agent Jorge Mendes have certainly helped too.
Mendes has been pulling the strings at Molineux in recruitment terms, bringing a number of clients including Diogo Jota, Ivan Caveleiro, Helder Costa and £15.8 million Championship record signing Ruben Neves (below) to the Black Country.

The manager Nuno Espirito Santo, by the way, was Mendes’ first ever client.
Though Wolves, in quotes reported by the Mirror, are ‘entirely comfortable’ that they will have no problems complying with Financial Fair Play regulations, with a number of Championship rivals growing increasingly vocal about their displeasure at Mendes’ involvement.
While Wolves do have a ‘tie-up’ with the Portuguese agent, The Mirror points out that this is no different to close relations enjoyed by other clubs with influential deal-brokers.

In the eyes of Wolves fans, all of this makes complaints from league rivals nothing more than an admission of green-eyed jealousy. It is understood that some Championship teams have cried foul play over Wolves’ spending, coinciding with the fact that Nuno’s side appear to be cruising to promotion.
Though, as things stand, it seems nothing can stand in the way of the Wolves train.
