Left-back Ruben Vinagre has produced just two assists since he joined Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017.

Ruben Vinagre has it all. Well, nearly.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back is rapid from a standing start, he can breeze past full-backs in the blinking of an eye and, with two strikes in six games already this season, he’s clearly got an eye for goal too.
But his crossing could do with some work. It’s a handy skill for a wing-back to have in his locker after all.

In 42 games for Wolves, Vinagre has produced just two assists. Clearly, the former Monaco starlet needs to improve his end product and fast nif he wants to dislodge the sturdy, reliable Jonny Castro Otto from Nuno Espirito Santo’s starting XI.
So Wolves fans should be thrilled to learn that Vinagre pulled a cross out of the top drawer for Portugal’s U21s on Thursday night. Portugal’s youngsters battered Gibraltar 4-0 and the 20-year-old produced a glorious assist to set up Juventus striker Danny Mota after just 13 minutes.
Braga wonderkid Fransico Trincao, who was linked with a £13.5 million move to Wolves in the summer via the Sun, was the best player on the pitch while Molineux newboy Pedro Neto caught the eye in a performance full of energy and class.
But an all-too rare assist from Vinagre has caught the eye most of all.
