Wily Bolly of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa skipper John Terry have arguably been the Championship’s standout centre-backs in 2017/18.

Willy Boly and John Terry are at two completely different ends of their careers in English football.
37-year-old Terry is aiming for one last hurrah, with his Aston Villa side second in the Championship and with an excellent chance of earning automatic promotion back to the Premier League.

Boly, however, is enjoying a dream debut season on English shores. The powerful French centre-back joined Wolves on loan from Porto in the summer and has been a genuine unsung hero as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side soar clear at the top of the Championship.
According to the Express and Star, Wolves will look to sign Boly on a permanent deal when their seemingly inevitable promotion is secured. But who is better? Well, in the admittedly biased eyes of the Molineux faithful, there is only one possible answer.
It is certainly difficult to disprove their argument that Boly has been the standout defender in English football’s second tier this season.

After all, the former Braga colossus has kept a remarkable 14 clean sheets in just 22 Championship appearances across 2017/18, with Wolves’ excellent defensive record perhaps the key reason why they are so far clear at the top of the table.
Terry has rolled back the years to make a real impact both on and off the pitch. But you would have a challenge making Wolves fans change their mind.
Terry was better. Boly is better. Debate over— Otto (@otto_mendi) February 15, 2018
