Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly offered £22million to sign Badou Ndiaye from relegated Stoke City back in the summer transfer window.
We all know Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have money to burn but that does not mean they should lose sight of value.
As a result, the Molineux faithful were left baffled back in July when Fanatik claimed they had made a £22 million bid for Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye.
The Senegal international had only moved to the Potters five months earlier from Galatasaray for £8 million less after all, and failed to help Stoke avoid relegation from the Premier League.
In the end, Wolves missed out as Ndiaye fought tooth and nail for a return to Gala, but he has hardly set the world alight back in Istanbul in the last few months.
The ‘goal-scoring midfielder’ has failed to find the net in 12 games with the reigning Super Lig champions all the way down in seventh in the table, and he was handed a five-game ban following a red card in the bitter derby clash with Fenerbahce in November.
According to Fotospor, Ndiaye could soon be on the move again – a surefire sign that Wolves dodged a £22 million bullet.
It is claimed that Stoke want to cash in and sell the Potters flop permanently in January. Although do not expect Wolves to express an interest this time around, with Ndiaye’s reputation suffering on the back of a nightmare 2018.
