Connor Ronan moved to Dunajska Streda in January after failing to make a Premier League appearance for Nuno’s Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Connor Ronan has admitted that he is loving life in Slovakia after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan once again in the January transfer window, while speaking to the Irish Independent.
The 21-year-old midfielder made his breakthrough into the Wolves first-team during the 2016/17 season, catching the eye of coach Paul Lambert who described his senior debut as one of the best he had seen for some time (Express and Star).
But, with Wolves spending big money to sign the likes of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho, Ronan has struggled to kick on and spent time on loan at Portsmouth and Walsall in 2018.
He is now playing for Dunajska Streda in the Slovakian top flight and, while some might have wondered if this was the best move for the Rochdale-born youngster, he has thrived in a new environment.
“I’m loving it over in Slovakia at the minute,” Ronan said after inspiring the Ireland U21’s to a 3-0 thrashing of Luxembourg.

“I feel like I am thriving over there and probably playing my best football in a few years.
“I had a bit more time on this occasion and could see that the team would suit me. Once I knew how they played, from watching videos and chatting to Wolves staff who had been over there, my mind was made up.”
Dunajska are currently third in the Slovakian Super Liga table, although they are 16 points adrift of leaders Slovan Bratislava. So far, Ronan has made five appearances for the club.
It remains to be seen whether he has a future at Molineux, with Morgan Gibbs-White exploding onto the scene this season and Wolves expected to sign Leander Dendoncker permanently from Anderlecht.
