Premier League champions Manchester City sent scouts to watch Lille’s Pepe in Ligue 1 action on Sunday, days after Wolverhampton Wanderers were linked.

Thanks to their billionaire Chinese investors, and the connections of Jorge Mendes, Wolverhampton Wanderers have succeeded in bringing some very talented footballers to Molineux in the last few transfer windows.
But that does not mean Wolves face a simple task attempting to lure Nicolas Pepe to the Black Country.
According to Le10 Sport, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were impressed by the Ivory Coast winger when sending scouts to watch Lille in action last week. But Wolves face competition from arguably the best club in the Premier League.
InfoFoot believes that Manchester City have also been keeping a close eye on Pepe and their scouts were present at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Sunday. The former Angers winger scored a penalty – his 11th goal in 15 league games – to secure a home draw against Reims.

According to Telefoot, Pepe is valued at £30 million.
But what chance do Wolves really have if they are going head-to-head with Manchester City. Wolves might be a club on the up, but the prospect of working with Pep Guardiola and playing Champions League football means Nuno’s side might just be blown out of the water.
