Premier League duo Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United are reportedly interested in Inter Milan’s Serie A forward Keita Balde Diao.
With Keita Balde Diao facing an uncertain future at Inter Milan, expect Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United to be following the situation very closely indeed.
Tuttomercatoweb released two reports in November, the first claiming that Wolves were hoping to bring the speedy Senegal international to Molineux. The second, published just 24 hours later, reported that Keita was also on West Ham’s radar.
But where will the former Barcelona youngster be playing his football next season?
That appears to be anyone’s guess.
Keita is on loan at Inter from Monaco and the Serie A outfit have the option to sign him permanently for £35 million, according to Calciomercato.
Considering the jet-heeled forward has scored just four goals in 22 games all season, it is no wonder the Nerazzuri allegedly think that fee is a bit too high.
With star striker Mauro Icardi still absent as his contract saga rumbles on, Calciomercato reports that Keita will be given the next three games to prove that Inter should pay the fee.
If he struggles against Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan and former club Lazio, do not be surprised to see Keita return to Monaco with his tail between his legs.
This, however, could open the door for Wolves or West Ham.
Keita’s outstanding 2016/17 season at Lazio, where he scored 16 goals in all competitions, should not be forgotten so readily. If Nuno or Manuel Pellegrini can get the best out of him, they will have real talent on their hands; particularly if he can strike up a partnership with Felipe Anderson again at the London Stadium.
