Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham are just two of the Premier League sides who sent scouts to watch Dinamo Zagreb’s Europa League clash with Benfica, according to SportSport.

The two sides went head-to-head in Croatia on Thursday night, with the hosts’ prevailing 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Bruno Petkovic.

And there is one player in particular that the scouts should have been watching – the former Barcelona winger Dani Olmo.

As reigning Croatian League Player of the Year, the Spanish U21 international has been a revelation since he made a shock switch to Croatia in 2014; so much so that Barcelona reportedly want to bring him back to the Camp Nou (Calciomercato).

According to SportSport, a number of Premier League club sent scouts to watch last night’s encounter and Olmo should have been one player they made notes about.

The sprightly winger has scored six goals and provided another eight assists in all competitions this season and it is claimed that Zagreb would demand a fee of £23 million.

He could be a fine addition for a Wolves side who embody an old-school style based on the speed and trickery of their wingers.

Fulham look almost certain to be relegated, however, so it remains to be seen whether they can attract anyone of that calibre to Craven Cottage.
