The striker’s move to QPR in Janaury fell through but there is surely no chance he is staying at Everton.

Yeni Ngbakoto and Matt Smith may have made their presence felt in QPR’s 2-1 comeback win against Cardiff City on Saturday but, despite an improved run of form that has lifted the club into the relative safety of mid-table, the capital club’s tally of 39 goals in 35 league games remains something of a concern.
Matt Smith has netted just two in six games since his January arrival from Fulham although at least Conor Washington appears to have finally found his scoring touch at Loftus Road.
However, if Ian Holloway judges that attacking reinforcements are required at the end of the season, could he be tempted to make another move for a player that proved beyond their reach in January?
GetWestLondon reported in January that QPR were interested in offering out-of-favour striker Arouna Kone an escape out of Everton, only for the Premier League club to scupper the deal by demanding the Championship side contribute the majority of the Ivorian’s £40,000-per-week wages.

Nonetheless, with Kone’s contract due to expire in the summer, this may no longer be an issue, unless the 33-year-old persists with extortionate wage demands – ones that should fall flat in light of his tally of zero goals from 43 Premier League minutes this season.
However, despite being frozen out under Ronald Koeman, a man of Kone’s experience and proven track record could still prove an excellent addition for a side with loftier ambitions than mid-table.
