Scottish Premiership giants Rangers could bring Scott Arfield to Ibrox for free – after Premier League Burnley demanded £8m.

Scott Arfield comes from a family of die-hard Rangers supporters so a summer move to Ibrox would go down quite well in the Canadian international’s household.
Wages might be an obstacle with the former Falkirk man earning over £20,000 a week at Turf Moor but director of football Mark Allen seems determined to wrap up a deal and make an experienced Premier League quality player his first signing of the summer.

Arfield has been a key player at Burnley ever since arriving from Huddersfield Town five years ago.
The 29-year-old has made 18 league appearances this season too with Sean Dyche’s side aiming to cap a stunning season by qualifying for Europe for the first time in their history. Burnley are currently seventh, in the final Europa League position.
And a deal for Arfield would look even more impressive when you consider that Burnley had placed a massive price-tag on his head in the January transfer window.

Amid interest from West Ham, Burnley demanded £8 million on transfer deadline day three months ago.
Now, however, The Clarets might be wishing they’d been willing to accept a little less with Arfield seemingly edging nearer to joining Rangers for absolutely nothing.
The deal is out of Burnley’s hands, and a side who have been praised for their intelligent recruitment over the last few years might just have gotten this one a little bit wrong.
