Rangers were reportedly keen to bring Greek international Lambropoulos to the Scottish Premiership from AEK Athens.

Vassilis Lambropoulos might be wondering how different life had been if he had sealed a January move to Rangers.
SDNA claimed in December that the Gers were keen to sign the commanding Greek international, who impressed as his AEK Athens side knocked Celtic out of the Champions League in the qualification stage at the start of the season.
Powerful, experienced and with a Greek league title under his belt in 2018, Lambropoulos could have helped shore up a backline that has often undermined the progress made by Steven Gerrard’s side in recent months.
But the move failed to materialise and the one-time Olympiacos defender now finds himself stuck in limbo.

He has not made an appearance for AEK since November having refused to extend a contract that is due to expire at the end of the season and remains well down the pecking order. There appears to be a good chance that Lambropoulos won’t play a game between now and May.
But, with Joe Worrall only on loan from Nottingham Forest and Gareth McAuley now 38, Rangers should keep him on the back-burner for now. After all, Lambropoulos is expected to be available on a free in just four months.
