Scottish Premiership giants Rangers have made an opening bid for Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones but Norwich City have plenty of cash to splash this January.

Rangers are attempting to act fast in order to beat Norwich City to the signing of Northern Ireland international winger Jordan Jones.

As reported by the Scottish Sun, the Glasgow giants have opened the bidding with a £350,000 offer to sign the highly-rated talent, although Kilmarnock will refuse to sell at that price as they value Jones at around £1 million.

Time will tell whether such a fee proves to be beyond Rangers.

And with Norwich City in the race for Jones, there appears to be a genuine risk that Rangers could be blown out of the water.

The Canaries are not short of money right now, after raking in £14 million from the sale of Alex Pritchard to Huddersfield Town last week, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Jones, though more of a winger than a play-maker, may be seen as a possible replacement for the former Spurs youngster and it is fair to say Norwich would have no difficulty making a mockery of Rangers’ £350,000 bid.

After all, they would hardly be taking a chunk out of their £14 million windfall by meeting Kilmarnock’s rather modest asking price for Jones this month.

So Rangers should consider coming back with a serious offer as soon as possible, with a substantial wad of cash burning a hole in Norwich’s back pocket.
